Aris Thessaloniki of Greece striker, Aide Brown Ideye is said to be attracting summer transfer attention from four top club in Turkey, as the well-travelled former Super Eagles’ star appears ready to move on once again, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although he is having a rollicking time with Aris, which is in contrast with the ugly end he had to his days with their more-prestigious Greek Super League rivals, Olympiakos, Ideye could again be ready to make a move.
This is sequel to updated reports that he is on the radar of four top teams in the Turkish Super Lig, who are all said to be battling to sign the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations gold medalist in the upcoming transfer window.
Details of the report by Spor44.com added that the race is being led by Azubuike Okechukwu’s former club, Yeni Malatyaspor, who have already held preliminary talks with the former Ocean Boys of Brass, Neuchâtel Xamax of Switzerland, Sochaux of France, Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine, West Bromwich Albion of England and Tianjin Teda of China hitman.
However, despite making the first official move for Ideye, having approached him at the beginning of this season, Malatyaspor are face top competition from the leading pack of Galatasaray, Besiktas and Trabzonspor, especially as initial negotiations with the less fancied club among the quartet were not successful.
That was simply because the 31-year-old striker was not keen on joining Malatyaspor last year, considering their lowly status, but he appears heading for a change of heart and has now held positive talks with the club’s hierarchy.
With Ideye now in the final two months of his contract with Aris, for which he has scored nine goals in 26 games across all competitions this season, the former Super Eagles’ striker, who left Nigeria for the start of his career overseas in 2008 could be on the move again this summer.
