Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu could be on his way out of the modest French Ligue 1 club next month, only because the team’s top ranking officials want him out, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although the Super Eagles’ rookie has been useful to the club with his versatile abilities and oscillating roles in the squad, Bordeaux want to cash in on his rising stock in selling him to the highest bidder come January.
In contrast with initial reports that the former SK Trencin of Slovakia and KAA Gent of Belgium dazzler is being chased by various clubs in Spain, Germany and England because of his quality performances, startling information out of France indicates that Bordeaux want to offload Kalu and François Kamano in the winter transfer market, in order to beef up their finances.
Nonetheless, Kalu’s camp will make the best of the moment, as the youngster has now attracted attention from Real Betis of Spain and Hertha Berlin of Germany, despite losing his starting spot this term at Bordeaux, where he has been in the first 11 in only four of the last 11 Ligue 1 games.
Kalu, who joined Bordeaux in the summer of 2018 from Gent for €8.5m, has played 50 games across all competitions, with five goals and six assists but, while his contract runs until the end of the 2022/23 season, he could jolly well be on his way out next month.
