England-born Nigerian midfielder, Kelvin Etuhu has commenced a hunt for a new club in the summer transfer window, following a decision by Carlisle United to send him packing last weekend, megasportsarena.com reports.
Former Super Eagles’ midfielder, Dickson Paul Etuhu’s younger brother had been hoping to put in better effort with the lower division outfit once the season in England resumes for the start of a new campaign, after this season was cancelled because of the novel coronavirus.
However, the younger Etuhu’s aspirations have been cut short and he s now n the hunt for a new terrain from where he can still roll in the twiight of his career and ply his trade next season, after Carlisle left his name out of their list of retained players.
The list was released following the cancellation of the fourth-tier division of English football and Etuhu found his name among the ten players released, even as the former Manchester City lad will officially come off contract with the club on June 30.
The 31-year-old Etuhu, who has also previously played for Rochdale, Leicester City, Cardiff City, Portsmouth, Barnsley and Bury, had earlier made ten appearances in the English Premier League during his time with Man City, then joined Carlisle in 2017, after which he went on to score three goals in 64 appearances for the lowly club in all competitions.
