Leicester City of England midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho has disclosed that it is currently a bright and buzzing atmosphere at his club’s home ground, King Power Stadium, as the players, officials and fans are all excited that the team is riding high again in the English Premier League, megasportsarena.com reports.
Following The Foxes’ achievement of an all-time best of eight consecutive EPL victories with last weekend’s stunning 4-1 win away to Aston Villa, in which he scored his second in as many weeks this term, ‘Kelele’ equally admitted that he is relieved to have shaken off his personal woes.
Having endured a torrid time all through last season and at the start of the current season, as he found game-time difficult to get, Iheanacho has now found his feet and hit excellent form in the team’s last two matches, such that the 23-year-old attacker-cum-midfielder is happy again.
The former Columbus Crew of America and Manchester City of England star scored the winner in his first EPL game of the season against Everton, then followed up with a goal and assist versus Aston Villa, with man-of-the-match ratings from both games.
However, the UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist and most valuable player is looking at the collective glee rolling through his club, as their past two victories ensured that Brendan Rodgers’ side stayed second on the EPL table with 38 points from 16 games, six above reigning champions, Manchester City, and he believes they can further extend their winning streak.
Iheanacho told the club’s television channel: “It’s very good to be a part of this great squad. I’m happy to be part of it and going forward we have fantastic players and great quality. Everyone is buzzing, everyone is happy. It’s a fantastic record and we have a great manager and great staff.
“I feel we can win the next game and we’ll keep going and get more records. There have been good Christmas presents so far, we’ll keep going and get more wins. I just need to keep going and keep the level up, working hard in training to make sure I keep my head up.”
