Nigeria’s national team, Super Eagles remain unchanged at 31st position in the world on the latest global soccer rankings released by world football governing body, FIFA on Thursday, megasportsarena.com reports.
FIFA’s figures for the month of April show that the Eagles retained 31st position in the world and third in Africa, behind The Teranga Lions of Senegal, who remain at the summit in the continent, and Tunisia stay second, followed by Algeria and Morocco in fourth and fifth spots respectively.
On the other hand, all of Nigeria’s group opponents in the race to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations – Benin Republic, Sierra Leone and Lesotho – are ranked 84th, 118th and 139th respectively in the world, and those in the World Cup qualifiers – Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia – are 78th, 109th and 152nd respectively.
On the overall scales, there are no changes in the top five teams in the world with Belgium still in number one position, while France, Brazil, England and Uruguay completed the list, which will hold sway until the next ratings to be published on June 11th.
