Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze is blowing hot ahead of Friday’s Spanish LiLiga match against Ramon Azeez’s UD Granada, who the left-footed dazzler believes his team will take to the cleaners and snatch a third straight victory since the restart of action, after the fear of coronavirus temporarily put the season of hold.
Megasportsarena.com reports that Chukwueze and The Yellow Submarine are on fire, with the Super Eagles’ rookie also back into their starting line-up for last Sunday’s game and got the assist that helped them win 1-0, such that Villarreal look better placed for victory against Azeez’s side this Friday.
Heading into the upcoming away fixture at Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium, Chukwueze disclosed how delighted he was in helping his side beat Real Mallorca on Tuesday, as he turned out to be a very pivotal player for the Castellón outfit and, with nine matches to end the season, he believes Villarreal have a chance of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Europa League.
He is now aiming at consolidating on that possibility with another sterling outing against Azeez’s Granada, even as he suggested that he and his colleagues will also try the best they can to put in a push that could put them in the frame for a UEFA Champions League ticket, since just three points separate them from fourth placed Real Sociedad.
Chukwueze, who has gone the distance in nine matches out of 28 appearances this season, told LaLiga TV: “This is just the start of the league, three months without playing, from now we are just recovering from the pandemic, I think we played well.
“Maybe next game will be much better. The team are ready to fight for every position in the league. We defended well and we took our chances, that’s the most important thing, we did very well. I feel so happy, more will come.
“We need to look forward because we want to reach the Europa League. That is our dream and target, if we keep on playing like this we will reach the Europa. We will continue working hard with the training and Thursday we travel, Friday we play our game.”
