Brighton & Hove Albion of England defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun could be heading into a new lease of regular action at The Seagulls in the coming month, should one of his rivals, Lewis Dunk end up moving to Chelsea, megasportsarena.com gathered.
While Baloigun continues his recovery process from another injury he copped during training with the English Premier League outfit, he would be comforted to learn that a spot might soon be available for him to fill in central defence should Dunk eventually moved to Stamford Bridge.
Dunk’s top form, alongside Shane Duffy in the heart of The Seagulls’ back-four is a major reason why 31-year-old Balogun has not been able to get adequate playing time since arriving from SV Mainz 05 of Germany, as the player in question is also the club’s captain, but all that could jolly well change should the stopper decide to take up The Blues’ offer.
News that should also excite fans of the former Fortuna Düsseldorf and SV Darmstadt of Germany star has it that Chelsea are eager to sign £50m rated Dunk from Brighton, as The Blues move to solve their defense frailties with Balogun’s rival, who has been in scintillating form this season and could take his career to another height if he signs for the London club.
The Times reports that Chelsea have enquired about the availability of Dunk, and added that Brighton are surprisingly prepared to let go of their skipper if The Blues meet their £50m valuation placed on him.
Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard wants to add some reinforcement to the team to be able to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, and he considers the 28-year-old Dunk as a reliable defender and better option ahead of his current duo of Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen,
Incidentally, aside Balogun’s skipper, Chelsea’s alternative to their bid to buy Dunk this month is Bournemouth defender, Nathan Ake, who is a former player of The Blues.
