Watford of England duo of Isaac Success and Tom Dele-Bashiru are confronting fresh scare from the novel coronavirus pandemic, as reports indicate that three people at the club are down with the deadly respiratory disease, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although no specifics were offered about the sad affected people at the London-based club, fans friends and family of Success and Dele-Bashiru will surely be filled with apprehension over the Nigerian duo’s safety, following the report out of COVID-19 now rocking Vicarage Road.
Success, Dele-Bashiru and other players of The Hornets will now adopt stricter health and safety measures at the resumption of training, sequel to confirmation by the club that a player and two members of their non-playing staff were among six overall positive tests for coronavirus in the first round of testing this week in the English Premier League.
Success and Dele-Bashiru’s club confirmed the news few hours after Burnley earlier disclosed that their assistant manager, Ian Woan tested positive on Sunday, while the EPL announced on Tuesday that six positive cases of coronavirus had been confirmed across three clubs, after an initial 748 tests were carried out on players and non-playing staff.
A statement by officials at Success and Dele-Bashiru’s side read: “Watford Football Club confirms that three people have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus following testing at the training ground over the past 48 hours. Of those three positive tests, one is a player and two are members of staff.
“All three have asked that medical confidentiality be respected and, therefore, the club will not be naming those involved. All three will now self-isolate for seven days – in line with the protocols set out in Premier League guidelines – before being tested again at a later date.
“Strict adherence to the Premier League guidelines has ensured the training ground remains virus-free and a safe environment for the players to continue to work. The club will continue to liaise closely with the affected personnel and there will be no further comment.”
