Galatasaray of Turkey attacker, Henry Onyekuru has admitted he would prefer staying put at the Turkish Super Lig club, and he has already gained support from the side’s coach, Fatih Terim, megasportsarena.com reports.
In what appears like a strong hint about the chances of Onyekuru sticking with Galat into next season, and skip an expected return to his parent club, AS Monaco of France, the Super Eagles’ star has received massive backing from Terim, who says he would love to continue having the former KAS Eupen and RSC Anderlecht of Belgium lad in his squad.
Monaco paid Everton of England 13.5 million euros to hook Osimhen last summer, but they were forced to loan him to Galatasaray in the January transfer window when he failed to settle during the first half of the season but, while they were expecting to have him back at the end of the campaign, the youngster has now confessed that he wants to stay in Istanbul.
Onyekuru is back at his familiar hunting ground, having excelled in his first tenure at Galatasaray on loan from Everton last season, before moving to Monaco, and he is now seeking a permanent exit from the French Ligue 1 side in the upcoming summer transfer window..
Having hit 17 goals from 53 appearances in all competitions, including 15 in the Turkish Super Lig, Osimhen is reportedly on the radar of Olympiakos of Greece, who want him on loan ahead of next season, with a purchase option inserted into the deal, but the Aspire Academy product is thinking only of remaining with Gala
Onyekuru told leading Turkish publication, Fanatik: “I want to stay in Galatasaray. Everton sold me to Monaco last year, but I hardly played there at all. I don’t want to go through the same thing again;” and Terim added: “I want Onyekuru to stay in the team, whatever the way.”
