FC Nantes of France winger, Moses Simon has come out with a message of thanks to God for helping him score one of his side’s goals in their dramtic victory over Paris-Saint Germanine last weekend in the French Ligue 1.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, with memories of the encounter still rife and many analysts reeling lyrical over Nantes’ performance in the game, Simon acknowledged how great his teammates were on the night at Parc des Princes.
Despite playing away against the Ligue 1 perennial champions, Simon and his pals held their own firmly to carry the day 2-1, following which the former SK Trencin of Slovenia, KAA Gent of Belgium and Levante of Spain ace declared that God made it possible.
While also dedicating his goal to his mother and all other mums across the world, Simon further disclosed that he is truly delighted to score in his side’s come from behind win against the Parisians, during a match in which the 25-year-old Nigerian international got his 19th league start of the season.
Although Julian Draxler put the hosts ahead three minutes before the break, Nantes fought back in the second-half with Randal Kolo Muani netting the equaliser in the 59th minute and Simon then scored what turned out to be the winning goal.
Simon struck in the 71st minute when he calmly tapped home after a through pass from Muani and, though he was replaced by Abdoul Kader Bamba seven minutes from time, the Super Eagles’ star took to social media to celebrate the comeback win over the Ligue 1 holders.
He posted: “All thanks to God for the victory🙏Great team spirit it was a good fight boys we did it all together now we can focus on the next one yes we can💪🔰. I dedicate my goal to all mothers in the world and of cause to my mom👸❤ and my 👸@princess_mide27.”
