Tottenham Hotspur’s Nigerian-born midfielder, Dele Alli has reacted to Wednesday’s armed robbery at his home in London with a declaration that it was a very horrible experience for him and his family as well as a friend that had come visiting, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although no life was lost n the attack, Alli was left with a nasty-looking bruise and several costly items catered away, all of which left him totally flustered, but the England international assured his fans that he was already recovering pretty fast.
Alli admitted t was a scary moment, as he was robbed at knifepoint by two burglars that broke into his home in the early hours of Wednesday, when the 24-year-old star was accosted along with his brother, their girlfriends and another friend also present, with the star punched in the mouth by the masked intruders and ordered to hand over valuables.
The Sun reported that Alli was playing pool with his model girlfriend, Ruby Mae, and brother at home in Hadley Wood, north-east London, when the incident happened, after which the robbers left with two of his watches and jewelery, following which police confirmed that the soccer star and another male were assaulted during the attack.
However, despite confirming the incident and noting details of how it took place, officers from Metropolitan Police further pointed out that no arrests had been made, while enquiries into the ugly circumstances were ongoing.
A statement by the police revealed: “Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing. Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.”
On their part, Alli’s club offered their support to the midfielder, as a spokesperson added: “We have been offering our support to Dele and those isolating with him. We encourage anyone with any information to help the police with their investigation to come forward.”
Alli said he was recovering from what he admitted was a scary incident and tweeted: “Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we’re all okay now. Appreciate the support.”
