Nigerian-born winger, Ademola Lookman has joined Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi and Kelechi ‘Kelz’ Iheanacho at Leicester City of England on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy, megasportsarena.com reports.
The 23-year-old youngster, who spent last season on loan at Fulham of England, where he got 35 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals, makes the move from RB Leipzig of Germany.
He opted to stay in England, rather than return to Leipzig, after failing to save Fulham from the drop last season, as The Cottagers were relegated from the English Premier League.
The former Charlton Athletic and Everton of England winger spent two-and-a-half years at Goodison Park before moving to Leipzig permanently in July 2019, but he made only 13 appearances with the German Bundesliga side.
He initially joined Leipzig on loan from Everton, after which he sealed a five-year deal, but never replicated the form he had during his first spell.
He impressed on loan for Fulham last season, despite The Cottagers’ relegation, with four goals in 34 top-flight games, but now joins The Foxes after midfield Dennis Praet moved to Torino of Italy earlier on Tuesday.
After sealing the deal that makes him the latest Nigerian to join the club that previously had Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Chima Daniel Uchechi on their cards, Lookman said he is happy making a move to King Power Stadium
Lookman stated: “I’m delighted to be here. It’s a great honour to be at such a big and amazing club with such a huge history and a quality group of players.
“The facilities are incredible. It’s pretty mind-blowing and I just can’t wait to get to work here. I think environment is very important for a player.
“So, this is the right environment for me to work hard every single day and to help my craft be even better.”
