SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen has been offered the biggest secret on how to make his career successful in the Italian Serie A, and it is simply that he has to pray against copping injuries, megasportsarena.com reports.
With three nasty injuries having already hit Osimhen in recent time, with a shoulder dislocation last November in action for the Super Eagles and then concussion suffered in a domestic match against Atalanta, the verdict from Bologna’s technical director, Walter Sabatini is that injuries could be the lad’s biggest blockade to success.
Consequently, Sabatini has reasoned that Osimhen needs to get lucky in order to avoid injuries and other forms of fitness issues that already beclouding his stint in The Land of The Azzurri, where his return to action earlier this year was delayed by an infection of COVID-19 he suffered while celebrating his 22nd birthday in Lagos.
That has lent some credence to the verdict from Sabatini, even as Osimhen is expected to be involved for Napoli when they tango AS Roma on Sunday in the Serie A, which will be the lad’s last game before reporting for international duty next week.
However, with Osimhen, who was signed from Lille Metropole of France for a club record fee of 70 million euro last summer, having struggled in his first season in Italy, Sabatini concluded that it is only a matter of time before the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer takes Europe by storm.
Sabatini told Radio Punto Nuovo: “Osimhen is an immeasurable talent, a player who, if he is lucky and will not have injuries or other events related to situations such as injuries, will express himself at the highest European levels.”
