Lille Metropole of France striker, Victor Osimhen has sensationally come under the radar of a possible move to Tottenham Hotspur in the coming year, following the appointment of two of the technical staff members he has worked with at his Ligue 1 club, megasportsarena.com reporrts.
The arrival of Jose Mourinho as Tottenham’s new coach has led to an upheaval of sort in the technical crew of Osimhen’s club, with the former FC Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester United gaffer raiding two assistant coaches from Lille, which could pave the way for a future reunion with them in London by the in-form Super Eagles’ rookie.
Osimhen has been in tremendous form in only his first season with Lille, such that the departure of two of the men who groomed him on his arrival from Sporting Charleroi of Belgium could mean an opportunity or two of one day linking up with them under the tutelage of Mourinho.
That could come from a word of two in favour of Osimhen from any of the two to ‘The Special One,’ as Mourinho has already appointed Lille’s manager, Christophe Galtier’s assistant coach, Joao Sacramento to his crew at White Hart Lane, while the French club’s Portuguese goalkeeping coach, Nuno Santos will fill the void left by Silvinio Louro at the London-based EPL outfit.
The Telegraph disclosed that Sacramento, who is also from Portugal, has joined Mourinho’s new staff from Lille, where he held the same position under Galtier, after previously being a technical aide for Leonardo Jardim at AS Monaco, before moving to Osimhen’s club in January 2017.
Dramatically, Lille’s current sporting director, Luis Campos is also said to be keen on working with Mourinho at Spurs, having earlier told Sky Sports News last month that joining up with his fellow-Portuguese tactician at his next job would be a no-brainer.
Though officials at Osimhen’s club believe Campos, who has a lengthy contract, is committed to the Ligue 1 club and there is no possibility of him leaving, they have already resigned themselves to the departure Sacramento and Santos top join their compatriot at White Hart Lane.
A report by British newspaper, Daily Mail added: “The Portuguese needed a new backroom team, with Spurs electing to sack Mauricio Pochettino and all of his staff including assistant Jesus Perez, first-team coach Miguel D’Agostino and goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez.
“Carlos Lalin will arrive as fitness coach, Giovanni Cerra as an analysis and Ricardo Formoshino will take up a position as scout – with all three having served under Mourinho at Old Trafford; but a reunion with Faria was quickly ruled out due to his managerial commitments at Qatari club Al-Duhail, while Louro is not thought to have been considered as a goalkeeping coach.”
