Ex-Super Eagles’ striker, Peter Osaze Odemwingie’s amazing decision to take up a vocation as a professional golf player and potential coach has gained massive support from one of his former clubs, Stoke City of England, as The Potters have sent a goodwill message of hope to him, megasportsarena.com reports.
Following the confirmation of Osaze’s membership of Professional Golfers Association (PGA), following the completion of his training course at Birmingham University in England, Stoke took the gauntlet up in becoming the first of his former clubs to wish him the best of luck in his new venture, and went on to even urge their fans to support him all the way as well.
The Potters, who had Osaze on loan in the twilight of his career, beat all his other England-based clubs, West Bromwich Albion, Bristol City and Rotherham United, as well as Cardiff City of Wales in lending words of motivation to the mulatto former striker, who also played during his heyday for La Louviere of Belgium, Lille Metropole of France, Lokomotiv Moscow of Russia and Madura United of Singapore, where he hung his boots two years ago.
Osaze, who was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to two medical practitioners, a Russian mother and father from Edo State, noted the message from Stoke on social media, and responded with an solemn appeal for more expert support from lovers of golf, while also joking about the formal clearance he got from his trainers in England, as he took time out to enjoy the game in Portugal.
Stoke posted: “One for you City golf fanatics! Have you seen that former Potter, @OdemwingieP has swapped his boots for his clubs as he trains to become a PGA Professional. Check out the full video on @ThePGA’s YouTube channel. Best of luck, Pete!”
Osaze responded: “The UK is a country where you can have all four seasons on your backswing so I have put a transfer request to my boss @jakhamblettgolf and working on my short game in Portugal. Please if those skills come on eBay let me know. #golfjokes #pga #golf.”
