Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia attacker, Ahmed Musa has pledged his loyalty to his club, the management and their fans, even as he downplayed reports linking him with a move to Galatasaray of Turkey, megasportsarena.com reports.
In contrast with startling reports over the past weekend indicating that Musa is in hot demand for a summer transfer to the Turkish Super Lig outfit, the Super Eagles’ captain stressed that he has not received any offer from Galatasaray or any other club for that matter, and declared his unalloyed commitment to Al-Nassr for the immediate future.
The 27-year-old Musa, who joined Al-Nassr in 2018, after failing to hit top marks with Leicester City, added that he is not thinking of making any move for now, as he remains dedicated to the mission and vision of his Middle East club, with which he has won a number of laurels in just two years of linking forces with them.
His surge at Al-Nassr has been in stark difference with the slump he faced at Leicester, when he was demoted to their under-23 squad in the 2017/18 season, and he had to return to one of his earlier clubs, CSKA Moscow of Russia, for the second half of the campaign.
Back in Moscow, Musa hit six goals in 10 league appearances, but the fleet-footed attacker, who has also played for Kano Pillars and VV Van Venlo of Holland, believes he is having the best of his career at Al Nassr, which he joined on a four-year contract that will expire in June 2022.
Dramatically, aside the link with Galatasaray, Musa’s name has also popped up in speculation about a possible move to their fellow-Istanbul-based Super Lig rivals, Fernebahce, but the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalist insists he remains committed to Al-Nassr.
Musa told Turkish news outlet, Hurriyet: “Galatasaray is a well-known team in Europe. However, there have been no offers to me or my manager so far. I am a player of Al Nassr and I have a contract here.”
