Arsenal of England youth team player, Miguel Azeez has found another feather added to his growing stock, as he has been selected to feature in a prestigious and exciting advertisement strip alongside a number of top stars, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although the Nigerian-born midfielder is yet to cement any spot in The Gunners’ reserves, even before seeking a place in the main team, he is already highly rated, such that getting chosen among the lot to feature in the advert appears to be further confirmation of his fast-rising image.
That led to the 17-year-old Azeez being selected to join elite company for an advert campaign for sportswear giants, Adidas’ famous Predator Boots, alongside illustrious names the likes of David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Paul Pogba.
This comes in the midst of his emergence as the most talked about academy player at Arsenal, thanks to his dynamism and guile on the ball, with his potentials already earning him comparison with former Liverpool midfield enforcer, Steven Gerrard.
This season, the talented midfielder who signed his first professional contract at the Emirates last month has been involved in ten games in all competition for Arsenal youth teams, scoring once, all of which have caught the eye of club big wigs, analysts, fans, corporate bodies and marketing gurus, with rave reviews signaling his ascent into the limelight of future stars to celerbate.
A citation in his favour by The Sun reporter, Jon Boon stated in part: “Azeez is a swaggering midfield player, equally adept at playing in the anchor role as he is as a No10. The 17-year-old is also a poster boy for Adidas, heading up an ad campaign celebrating 25-years of Predator boots range alongside football luminaries David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Paul Pogba.
“Azeez began training with Arsenal from the age of five, and has progressed steadily through the academy at Hale End. Playing with a maturity above his years, he’s viewed as a natural leader – something the Premier League giants have lacked in midfield since the days of Patrick Vieira.
“When he was 15, Azeez was already appearing for Arsenal’s Under-18s, and didn’t look out of his depth. By 17 he was captaining their Under-18s and dictating the play in the middle of the park, wowing coaches with his ability. His playing style is that of a dynamic midfielder in the mould of Steven Gerrard.
“Azeez possesses first-class technique, is a powerful runner and can deliver a defence-splitting pass with ease. But it’s his eye-for-goal that has won him plaudits and drawn comparisons to the Liverpool legend. In Azeez’s armoury is a powerful shot that was evident when he stung the net from long range against Chelsea in the Under-16 Premier League Cup final.
“His rise has been recognised by England, who have capped him at Under-16, 17, and 18-level, and there’s certainly more international honours to come.”
