Leicester City of England attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho has received more rave reviews for his stunning header that opened his side’s scoring run against Fulham on Wednesday, with former Manchester United midfielder, Own Hargreaves describing it as a ‘dream goal.’
Iheanacho’s effort helped The Foxes climb to third on the log, with a 2-0 win away to Fulham at Craven Cottage and, while the Super Eagles’ ace celebrated his first goal of the campaign in a rare start for The Foxes, Hargreaves is relishing the beauty of the build-up.
Megasportsaena.com learnt that Hargreaves was amazed seeing how Iheanacho nodded home from ten yards out after a pinpoint delivery from the in-form James Maddison, as the Nigerian attacker benefitted from the absence of Leicester’s top goals scorer, Jamie Vardy, who is recovering after hernia surgery.
In Vardy’s absence, Iheanacho repaid Leicester coach, Brendan Rodgers’ faith by breaking the deadlock in the 17th minute, with his first goal from 15 EPL matches, and he was also later on involved in the build-up to The Foxes’ second goal.
The UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist and most valuable player, who previously played for Columbus Crew of America and Manchester City of England, made a smart turn and found Maddison, who played in James Justin and the fullback slotted home.
The beauty of Iheanacho’s first goal this season in the English Premier League and the role played by the product of Taye Football Academy of Owerri in the second goal left Hargreaves awed, as he hailed the Nigerian star’s finish and part-assist.
Hargreaves said: “What a ball from James Maddison, he puts it on a plate for Iheanacho. To be fair, Iheanacho adjusts absolutely brilliantly. This goal is a dream, Iheanacho with a lovely turn and then the rest of it is a dream.”
