The camp of Nigeria’s under-17 national team, Golden Eaglets is likely bound to open at a new base in Ilorin, Kwara should plans set in motion by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) see light of the day, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is sequel to feelers from the NFF’s offices in Abuja, where the football lords are reportedly eagerly seeking sponsorship from a state government in camping the Eaglets ahead of the African U-17 Cup of Nations in Morocco.
A report by SCORENigeria added that NFF officials disclosed that arrangements have reached advanced stage for the Eaglets to relocate their training camp from Abuja to finalise their preparations for next month’s continental contest.
The Eaglets resumed training last week in Abuja, after they qualified for the U17 AFCON, despite losing 3-2 to Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the WAFU B U17 tournament in Togo, and Kwara State Government is believed to be in the state being mentioned and it is proposed the team train in Ilorin.
A top official at the NFF disclosed: “We have almost concluded with a state government for the Eaglets to train in that state before he fly out to Morocco.”.
