Queens Park Rangers of England playmaker, Eberechi Eze is attracting keen attention from top-flight side, Newcastle United, with hints of a possible summer transfer to the English Premier League outfit coming his way, amidst similar interest coming his way from several other clubs, megasportsarena.com reports.
With the 21-year-old dread-locks-wearing midfielder on top of his game in only his first full season with QPR, he is drawing frenetic attention ahead of the summer transfer window, such that Newcastle are bound to face stiff competition in the hunt for his signature.
Before now, reports had emerged about similar interest in the dazzling youngster from three other English Premier League clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and West Ham United cited in the chase for the attack-conscious lad, who Newcastle believe would be able to make an immediate impact in their squad if they are able to sign him later this summer.
An additional report by Chronicle Live, revealed that The Magpies are currently keeping strong tabs on the England under-21 international, who is being sought by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick for a switch in allegiance to star for the Super Eagles.
Newcastle, though, will have to move fast and hard if they are to pull off a successful swoop on Eze, who has scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in 37 English Championship appearances this season, in which he has helped The Rs stage a late push for a promotion play-off spot.
This season has indeed been a breakthrough campaign for Eze, who joined The Hoops in 2016, after wearing the colours of the youth teams of three of their fellow-London-based outfits – Arsenal, Fulham and Millwall – but his current contract will end after the 2020/21 season.
