Organisers of the prestigious pioneering beach football competition in Nigeria, Kinetic Sports have disclosed that this year’s Copa Lagos will be an action-packed three days of intense and exciting games at Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island, Lagos, megasportsarena.com reports.
Kinetic Sports acting CEO, Mr. Sola Aiyepeku further disclosed during a press conference to herald the Copa Lagos 2019 tournament schedule that the globally acclaimed beach soccer competition will hold from November 1st to November 3rd,
Aiyepeku added that, in continuation of the Copa Lagos tradition, the main event will be preceded again by the organisers’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event, Clean The Beach on October 26th, which is aimed at keeping neat marine environment, conserving the beach and preserving aquatic life.
The Kinetic Sports’ chief executive also disclosed that FIFA Beach Football World Cup defending champions, Brazil will be making their second appearance at Copa Lagos, while five-time African winners, Senegal, are also set to play, alongside the continent’s two-time champions, Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles and England, in a potentially explosive foursome.
There will also be a Club Challenge featuring three Nigerian clubs, Pepsi Football Academy, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club, Gidi Sharks of Lagos and an invited team from Ghana, Sunset Sports Keta.
Aiyepeku further stated: “Since inception in 2011, Copa Lagos has grown from being the first ever international beach soccer event in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa to being recognized as one of the most prominent sporting and entertainment events in the World.
“In addition to the tournament, this year’s edition will feature a kids arena, fan zone for the football lovers, a food court with amazing vendors, VIP lounge, After parties and our traditional Celebrity matches.
