Club Brugge of Belgium attacker, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure has been hit with a transfer market valuation of €25m by his club, as the Belgian Jupiler League champions aim to cash in on interest spreading for the youngster from far and wide, megasportsarena.com gathered.
With latest reports revealing that Fenerbahce of Turkey have entered the race to sign the Super Eagles’ rookie, thereby locking horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United of England, Real Madrid and Barcelona of Spain as well as AS Napoli of Italy and Celtic of Scotland, Brugge are thinking fast of how they can make a huge profit on his signature..
Details of the report by Turkish media outlet, Sabah indicate that Bonaventure will not come cheap for The Yellow Canaries, who have identified him among nine players – alongside Yuri Alberto, Aleksandar Prijovic, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting,Nikola Kalinic, Gerson Rodrigues, Mario Mandzukic, Mergim Berisha and Mario Balotelli – that can replace Vedat Muriqi.
With Muriqi being linked with Tottenham Hotspur of England and some in the Italian Serie A, Fernebahce are putting a lot of heat on Brugge to sell Bonaventure in the summer, but the Belgians hinted that it will only come if an interested club meet his asking price.
However, observers believe that the valuation, which is thought to be in the region of €25m could be a problem for clubs outside the big five European Leagues, such that Fenerbahce may not be able to afford the 22-year-old, who scored a brace of goals against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League then later struck against Manchester United in the Europa League.
The report added: “Fenerbache is the latest clubs to show strong interest in Dennis. The Istanbul giants want to improve their squad after they have continued to struggle in a championship they previously dominated as they are now seventh on the league table.
“Dennis scored nine goals in 33 appearances for Club Brugge last season and the Cup final against Antwerp in June will be his last game in Belgium. The 22-year-old Nigeria international is expected to leave the Belgian Pro League champions, Club Brugge, after spending three seasons at Jan Breydel Stadium.”
