Miami Heat of USA star, Bam Adebayo enacted a feat of 26 points in his side’s latest National Basketball Association (NBA) league game, but it was not enough to fetch victory against in-form Brooklyn Nets, who bought heavily during the off-season.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, though Adebayo went full throttle for The Heat, the NBA’s most potent offence o current form found themselves in a rare defensive battle, as The Nets carried the day at 98-85, on a ight they went into action averaging 120.3 points.
However, The Nets still struggled to find any rhythm offensively in the early going, with each of their big three stars struggling to make shots, and the side from Brooklyn opted for a defensive mindset in order to keep themselves from being blown out.
The strategy paid dividends in the fourth, when Kevin Durant was able to string together a series of threes and spark the hosts on a game-winning run and finished with 20 points, while Adebayo posted 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Heat.
Elsewhere same night in the NBA, LeBron James was at his veteran best for Los Angeles Lakers, as he netted 46 points to lead his side above Cleveland Cavaliers 115-108, even as a third-quarter burst helped The Cavs make the fourth quarter interesting.
However, Cleveland still found themselves outmatched down the stretch, as The Lakers became the sixth team in NBA history to start the season with a 10-plus game win streak on the road; while a historic night for Luka Doncic was not enough for Dallas Mavericks, who went down 117-113 to Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets soared behind a 30-point performance from Michael Porter Jr, while 21-year-old Doncic finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds and 16 assists in the loss to record the 16th 30-point triple-double of his career, tying Michael Jordan for eighth-most all-time.
