Chelsea of England youngster, Faustino Anjorin appears set to star for The Blues’ main team in this weekend’s English FA Cup clash against Sheffield United, if the words of the London-based club’s coach, Thomas Tuchel are anything to go by.
Megasportsarena.com reports that Tuchel hinted as much while speaking during the pre-match press conference, as he eulogized Anjorin to a large extent and only stopped short of confirming that the Nigerian-born youngster will play Saturday’s quarter-finals’ fixture.
The German soccer tactician, however, strongly acknowledged that he is not shying away from including Anjorin in the senior squad for a second consecutive fixture, especially as the England youth international has been part of the main team since Tuchel’s appointment.
The youngster has, however, found game time difficult to come by, logging only 21 minutes on the whole, which came in the previous FA Cup win at Barnsley last month, but he attracted lots of interest in the winter transfer market and Tuchel admitted the lad has done well in training.
Tuchel told Football London: “He has the physical ability to play and train with us at this level. He has some minutes against Barnsley in the cup game and we try to involve him in the group against Sheffield because he trains very well.
“We decide to keep him instead of him going on out loan in winter. I feel him very strong in finishing in training. He is a nice guy, another nice guy from the academy, very humble. He has both feet on the ground and he is here.
“I am very grateful to have this chance to learn at this level. I am happy with him and he needs to be patient and impatient at the same time which is always the target for the young guy.”
