AFCON QUALIFIERS: Osimhen, Umar Lead Nigeria Attack V Sierra Leone

Almeria forward Sadiq Umar and Victor Osimhen of Napoli will lead the line as the Super Eagles attempt to claw the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in the Matchday one of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying in Abuja, Megasportsarena.com reports.

Nigeria begin its chase for a place in the 2023 Afcon in Cote D’Ivoire with a must win game in the Nigerian capital on Thursday evening.

The Eagles are expected go full throttle against their opponents as the head coach,  Jose Peseiro already promised all out attacking game, with a 4-4-2 formation.

William Troost-Ekong will partner Semi Ajayi in the centre-half while Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey are the wing backs.

Joe Aribo and Alex Iwobi will show their creative expertise in the midfield while Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon will operate from the wings where they should give the visitors a lot of headache.

This is Nigeria’s first competitive match since they lost out of the race to make it to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
