Fernebahce of Turkey winger, Victor Moses has been rated joint-fifth among the biggest earning players in all of the Turkish Super Lig, which makes him top of the sector’s Nigerian players, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Although Moses is still on loan from Chelsea of England, his earnings at the Istanbul-based club are remarkably high, and The Yellow Canaries have been able to keep his figures intact, despite his recent bouts with injuries.
According to figures released by Futbol Arena, Moses is currently the highest paid Nigerian player in the Turkish Super Lig, where his €3.2m earning figure places him joint-fifth in the list, along with Galatasaray’s Steven Nzonzi and Trabzonspor’s Jose Sosa.
Moses, though, still falls below the highest paid African player in Turkey, who happens to be Galatasaray’s Algerian star, Sofiane Feghouli, who is on €3.8m, but a while €1.2m less than his club mate and the division’s biggest earner, Radamel Falcao, who happened to replace Henry Onyekuru at the same club that is also based in Istanbul.
Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera is third on €3.5m, followed by Galatasaray’s Morocco star Younes Belhanda with €3.3m, while Nabil Dirar, Domagoj Vida and Luiz Gustavo complete the list of top ten highest paid players in Turkey.
The Nigerian octoplet of former Super Eagles’ captain, John Mikel Obi and his Trabzonspor teammates, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi and Anthony Nwakaeme as well as Olympic Eagles’ slipper, Azubuike Okechukwu, Olarenwaju Kayode, Aminu Umar, Paul Mukairu and Anthony Uzodinma did not make the list.
