Valmiera FC of Latvia rave of the moment, Tolu Arokodare has reportedly opted to go on strike at the East European club, in order to force through a much-desired summer transfer to RSC Anderlecht of Belgium, megasportsarena.com reports.
However, with the former Box-To-Box FC of Lagos in-form star raining goals by the dozen in the current Latvian League season, Valmiera are not ready to let him go, thereby causing a face-off between the club’s management and the player.
This much has been disclosed in a press statement by the club, in which they claimed that the top striker has refused to train and play any further match for the team, because he wishes to force a transfer through to Anderlecht.
After netting in two straight league matches, the club have announced that Arokodare refused to play against Liepajas because he and his agent, Jean Benoit Czajka, who was recently sacked by Victor Osimhen, want to force a transfer to the Belgian top club that has a long tradition of Nigerian players in their squads over the years.
However, in a quick formal response to the development, Valmiera have gone public with their stand on the matter and maintained that they will not be forced to against their will, as they do not that they do not intend to sell the 19-year-old Arokodare this summer, while also warning that they could consider taking the case to world football governing body, FIFA.
