Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has confessed that he is seriously considering moving on after the expiration of his contract in June 2020, as he says he no longer enjoys his working condition with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), megasportsarena.com can confirm.
While acknowledging that he has enjoyed a good time with the Eagles’ players and staff over the last three years, he confessed that his relations with the administrators have not been very easy; especially when it comes to payment of his wages.
The Franco-German tactician pointed out that he will be free tot talk to willing suitors at the start of the year, and hinted that he could decide to move on should he find a deal that is more suitable than the current difficulties he alleged that he is facing in Nigeria.
He acknowledged that his players appreciate his efforts, which he says makes him still desirous of continuing on the job, but stressed that officials of the NFF have made things difficult for him with delayed payments, inaccessibility and lukewarm reactions to his needs.
With his contract set to expire in the middle of next year, NFF officials have already stated that they will hold talks with the former Niger Republic, Gabon and Burkina Faso handler in January on terms of a new deal, but Rohr believes he deserves better attention from The Glasshouse, having qualified Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup and took them to third place at AFCON 2019.
Rohr told insideworldfootball: “While I have had a good time with my players and staff over the last three years, I have to say that relations with the administration have not been very easy; especially when it comes to the payment of my wages and that of the bonuses and allowances of my players and staff. There needs to be a lot more respect in this regard.”
