Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze has stated delight with the opportunity he got to put smiles on the faces of many children in the community where his club is based, as he went on a charity visit to help them mark Christmas in style, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although he already had plans to head home to Nigeria and spend yuletide with his parents back home in Umuahia, Abia State, the Super Eagles’ rookie took time out to join Roc Nation Sports’ Kicks For Kids Campaign on a visit to Casa Ronald Charity, an expedition he has now come out to reveal gave him deep levels of joy.
It was time for him to wind down and get over the pressure of playing top-flight matches week in, week out, especially in a season when his club has been struggling for form and he has been left with a less than satisfactory output, compared to the thrills he enacted last season.
Despite finding playing time more tedious to get this time out, Chukwueze has scored three times and contributed two assists in 16 La Liga appearances for the Yellow Submarine this term, while he netted 10 goals in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign.
At the same time, The 20-year-old Villarreal winger has been linked with a big-money move to Premier League giants Chelsea in the January transfer window after putting series of performances for thew Yellow Submarine this season.
Chukwueze who beat fellow compatriot Victor Osimhen to win the Nigerian Football Federation’s Young Player of the Year award for 2018 has been linked with both Liverpool and Manchester City earlier this year as the Nigeria international still has a contract with the La Liga side until the summer of 2023 but the forward took his social media with the joy of visiting the charity home and thank them for the very warm welcome.
Chukwueze stated on social media: “Had the best time visiting children and staff at Casa Ronald Charity for @rocnationsports ‘Kicks for Kids’ campaign. Thank you for the very warm welcome, I really enjoyed ourselves and it was nice to put smiles on some faces ❤ @villarrealfc @snipes.”
