FC Midtjylland of Denmark striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu has missed out of playing for his team in their UEFA Europa League qualifier against visiting Glasgow Rangers of Scotland, as he has not returned to training with the squad, since starring for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Onuachu is still enjoying his extended break from pre-season, due to his outing at Egypt 2019, such that he was not even in line for a place in the squad for Thursday night’s qualifying game at home, which also came amidst fresh transfer speculation reeling round the tall attacker.
The 25-year-old Onuachu has been linked with a summer exit from the Danish Superliga side since his national team breakthrough, which began with a goal on his debut in a friendly 1-0 victory against Egypt in Asaba, such that clubs in Spain and Belgium expressed interest in his services.
While Onuachu was not listed in FCM’s squad to battle The Gers at MCH Arena, the Nigerian duo of Ayo Okosun and Frank Onyeka were named in his club’s 20-player squad, while Rangers had in their list Sheyi Ojo and Joe Aribo, who have both started three of four games played by the club in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, with two goals each.
