Bournemouth of England winger, Nnamdi Ofoborh is attracting interesting transfer interest from English League One club, Charlton Athletic and the former Flying Eagles invitee could be on his way to The Valley in this January transfer window, megasportsarena.com reports.
Ofoborh has entered the final six months of his contract with The Cherries, who are looking to extend his stay at Vitality Stadium beyond the end of this campaign but, while he is yet to make his full debut for Bournemouth in the Championship, he is attracting attention elsewhere.
A report by London News Online revealed that Ofoborh could be the next Nigerian star to play for Charlton, as The Addicks are interested in a permanent deal for the Bournemouth central midfielder, who made two starts in the Carabao Cup before they were knocked out by defending champions, Manchester City.
He has 24 all-time appearances in the Football League including the playoffs with 21 in the colours of Wycombe Wanderers where he spent the whole of last season on loan and helped them seal promotion to the second-tier of English football.
Ofoborh, who previously had stops with the youth teams of Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall before joining Bournemouth on a scholarship deal in July 2016, could now be on his way to joining the Nigerian-born pair of Chuks Aneke and Deji Oshilaja at Charlton.
Additional information reveals that Glasgow Rangers of Scotland have also made contact with Bournemouth over a potential double deal for Ofoborh, whose chances of joining Charlton may be scuttled by cash constraints.
The Addicks are keen on the midfielder, who has played five games in the Championship this season, even as the 21-year-old lad, who was an unused substitute in Bournemouth’s defeat at Derby County on Tuesday, has less than six months remaining on his contract at the Cherries.
Ofoborh, though faces a stiff hurdle if he is to join Charlton, after the League One club’s coach, Lee Bowyer said: “I like the player but it’s not going to be realistic bringing him here. There are a lot more attractive offers for him at a higher level and even some abroad as well.”
