Vitoria Guimaraes of Portugal midfielder, Mikel Ndubuisi Agu marked his recall to the Super Eagles with a well-taken goal for his club in their latest Primera Liga match, and helped the team climb to fourth spot on the table, with 15 points from nine matches, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Just few hours after his name rolled out in a roster of 23 players invited to don Nigeria’s colours for back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho next month, Agu, who also dazzled last week against Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League, justified his call-up with his strike in his side’s 5-0 spanking of Belenenses.

Agu, who did not make Nigeria’s lists to the 2018 World Cup in Russia and AFCON 2019 in Egypt, will now aim to replicate his stunning club form when he returns to the national team in the middle of November, first against The Squirrels of Benin Republic in Uyo on November 13 and five days later away to The Crocodiles of Lesotho.
Another player called up for those matches, FC Nantes of France winger, Moses Simon was also in top form on Wednesday. As he hit a hat-trick in action against FC Paris, to help side snatch a very dramatic 8-0 win in the league cup.
Simon opened scoring for Nantes in the 22nd minute with a lob, made it 3-0 on 35 minutes, then completed his treble two minutes from the break, after which he was replaced in the 64th, as he continues to impress on loan from UD Levante of Spain.
