Former FC Midtjylland of Denmark attacker, Jude Ikechukwu Nworuh (aka Kilo) has moved over to Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim of Israel, with a view towards taking his beclouded career to a higher level in the lower division Israeli Liga Leumit, megasportsarena.com reports.
It is another step for deserved relevance by Nworuh, who started his career with FC Ebedei of Sagamu, before moving to Midtjylland in 2007 and spent five years at the Danish Superliga side, before also trying out at Fredericia, AC Horsens, Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv, Bnei Sakhnin, Ilves and Chennaiyin, but his professional career is yet to fully explode.
Nworuh will now seek to finally achieve the greatness he showed great potentials of getting during his early days in Okota area of Lagos, where he was a regular in the backstreets, especially at the popular yet now defunct Red Sand Field, which also produced Emmanuel Emenike, Emeka Ugali, Johnson Olewezi, Kelechi Francis Ibekwe and Emmanuel Ejike.
Nworuh admits it has been a tough struggle for him all these years, but told allnigeriasoccer.com that his contract with Ramat Gan is for just one season, after arriving from another second-tier club in the same country, Hapoel Marmorek, where he scored four goals in 15 games last season.
The stocky attacker, who last year played for Chennaiyin FC in India’s Hero Super League on a free transfer from FC Ilves of Finland, was seven years ago in the runners-up squad of Midtjylland, for which he also played in the UEFA Europa League.
During his stint with Midtjylland, Jude spent majority of the 2010-11 season on loan at Danish second tier outfit, FC Fredericia, for which he scored 14 league goals, but he moved the following year to their rivals, AC Horsens, spending two and a half seasons, with 16 league goals.
In 2015, Jude moved to Bnei Yehuda in the Israeli top tier and scored seven goals in 16 starts, until the 2016-17 campaign, which he shared betwen Israel’s Bnei Sakhnin and Ilves in Finland.
Nworuh, who is taking over from another Nigerian striker, Uzochukwu Chukwuma and midfielder, Odeni Jamabo, who both played for Hapoel Ramat Gan last season, could make his league debut for his new club on August 22, when they visit Hapoel Ashkelon in the Israeli Liga Leumit.
His former coach at Chennaiyin FC, John Gregory said: “Jude is a forward with immense pace who can finish and also create chances.
“He had a great career in Denmark and is highly rated in Israel football, a market I know very well. He has all the attributes to succeed.”
