New loan signing at Fulham of England, Josh Maja has disclosed that he is excited and proud with the deal that takes him back to Craven Cottage from Girondins-Bordeaux of France, even as he promised to make the best of it, megasportsarena.com reports.
It is also a turn to England for the once-fearsome striker, who shot to limelight as top scorer at Sunderland, but his days in France did not turn out to be as rosy as expected, hence the loan move to Fulham, where he starred in the recent past.
Now that his second spell with The Cottagers has commenced, the former Super Eagles’ invitee is thinking big again, as he declared that he is laced with burning ambition to excel in the English Premier League, where he will play on loan until the end of this season.
The Cottagers were able to sign their academy product before the close of the winter transfer market on Sunday and he admitted how wonderful he feels getting back to the London-based club, who barely got the deal over the line before the window slammed shut.
After putting pen to paper on a five-month deal at Craven Cottage, Fulham have an option to make Maja’s transfer permanent for a fee of 10 million euro at the end of this season and the 22-year-old hitman, who also previously had a stint at Manchester City, is happy to link up with the Nigerian quartet of Ola Aina, Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Onomah and Ademola Lookman.
Speaking ahead of Fulham’s next fixture against Kelechi Iheanacho’s Leicester City at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, Maja, who registered 11 goals in 48 outings for Bordeaux, including a historic hat-trick against Nîmes Olympique, since his January 2019 arrival at the club that also has Samuel Kalu on their cards, Maja stressed that he is thinking big once again.
Maja, who spent three years at Fulham’s academy, from 2010 to 2013, said: “I’m really excited and proud to sign for Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season. This is a big opportunity and I look forward to meeting up with the team and working hard to achieve positive results.”
