Arsenal of England youth team midfielder, James Olayinka is inching closer to his debut with The Gunners’ main squad, as he has turned up in regular training with the London-based side ahead of this weekend’s English Premier League fixture against Southampton, megasportsarena.com reports.
The 19-year-old Olayinka has been training with Arsenal’s first team since the third international break of the season and was in their latest session at London Colney in St Albans on Wednesday, as the squad stepped up efforts to overcome The Saints’ challenge this weekend.
Arsenal boss, Unai Emery is a keen admirer of Olayinka, with a strong hint that the Spanish gaffer is ready to give the youngster as many opportunities as could be possible for him to play himself into the club’s mainframe,.
Dramatically, though, his rising profile is not only setting him up for an EPL debut, as Olayinka is also said to be edging closer to making his professional bow in the UEFA Europa League, as the team can qualify for the round of 32 of Europe’s second-tier continental clubs’ competition with a game to spare if they beat Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany next Thursday, November 28.
It would be another step forward for Olayinka, who earlier made hay in pre-season with The Gunners’ A-squad when he scored against Colorado Rapids of USA, before then going on to hit bull’s eye with the under-21 side versus Northampton Town in the EFL Trophy in August.
