Changchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has confirmed that injury has knocked him out of the Super Eagles’ upcoming matches against Algeria and Argentina.
Although the former Watford star says he would have loved to be part of both games this month, he is sad to be forced to withdraw on account of a knock clopped last weekend in the Chinese Super League.
Ighalo has started the last three competitive matches played by the Eagles and was on target in the 4-0 hammering of Cameroon in September, but is now out of the latest roster that was announced on Monday.
He disclosed further that tests carried out by club medics confirmed that he faces a spell of about two weeks out on the sidelines.
Ighalo recounted: ”I suffered a knee sprain in our last game against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan on Sunday. I was able to finish the game because I thought it wasn’t serious, then I started feeling pains after the game. I will be out of action for 10-15 days, I won’t be able to play against Algeria and Argentina.”
