Nigeria’s cadet national team, Golden Eaglets on Friday stepped up their preparations for this year’s African U-17 Cup of Nations with victory over a Kaduna-based youth club sponsored by FC Nantes of France winger, Moses Simon.
Eaglets’ coach, Fatai Folorunsho Amoo, who is preparing his side for the U17 AFCON in Morocco, starting on March13, paraded lads that are still undergoing screening with his team, but they could have won the game if not for the agility of the opposing goalkeeper, who pulled off several big saves.
Eventually, Amoo’s side fought back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with the academy from Kaduna during the friendly played at FIFA Goal Project in Abuja, as the visitor stunned their hosts in the first half, before the Eaglets drew level in the second through a well-worked finish.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that Simon’s team, officially known as Simoiben Futball Kaduna had been in Abuja since the past weekend preparing for the friendly and boosted their confidence by winning sn earlier match 3-1.
Amoo, who is fondly called ‘Arsenal’ by his admirers, will now turn his attention on the planned relocation of his squad’s camp site to Ilorin, Kwara State, where they are expected to be until they travel out for the U17 AFCON in Morocco.
