Queens Park Rangers midfielder, Eberechi Eze could be on his way to Stamford Bridge in the coming month, following reports that he has caught the attention of former English Premier League champions, Chelsea, megasportsarena.com reports.
The report, though, comes few weeks after news emerged that another London-based EPL club, Tottenham Hotspur also wants to sign Eze from QPR, who are currently plying their trade in the lower division English Championship.
It means a wild race is set to ensue in the pursuit of Eze, who has attracted keen interest from far and wide, due to his maestro performances in The R’s midfield, which has also shored up a lot of interest in him from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick.
While a tussle is on between Nigeria and England, to see which team the dreadlocks-wearing youngster settles for at full international level, Eze is also now drawing frenetic contest between two London clubs in the English top-flight, while his club, who are also based in the British capital, will try hard to keep a hold of him.
The report by Sportsmail added: “The QPR trickster has made a meteoric rise through the EFL ranks since his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers. Much like many others on this list, he possesses a star quality and the ability to get fans off their seats.
“He has nine goals this term and has been linked with Tottenham, but that trail may have gone cold since Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking in November. Chelsea are another club sniffing around Eze and with their transfer ban now lifted, they could take the plunge.”
