Heracles Almelo of Holland striker, Cyriel Dessers has emerged as a very strong summer transfer prospects with three top clubs across Europe, as Galatasaray and Fernebahce of Turley are said to be in contention for his signature along with Racing Genk of Belgium, megasportsarena.com reports.
The last interest among the trio is coming from Fernebahce, who have a long standing Nigerian tradition dating back to the days of Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Uche Ikechukwu, Joseph Ikpo Yobo and Emmanuel Emenike in their team, and recently Victor Moses, who was last season on loan from Chelsea of England, before moving to Inter Milan of Italy in the second half of the contest.
The Yellow Canaries have now become the latest club being linked with a move for 25-year-old Dessers, but a report by Belgian media outlet, Voetbalniews suggested that Genk are in the best position to sign the Heracles hitman, who emerged joint-top scorer in the high-profile Dutch Eredivisie during the recently cancelled season.
This is considering that Dessers was born in Belgium to a Belgian father and Nigerian mother, thereby raising suggestions that the new Super Eagles’ invitee, who will cost a transfer fee of five to six million euros, would prefer a move to Genk over his suitors in Turkey.
It is now left to see which of the clubs will buy Dessers, who earlier played for FC De Zwaluw Vechmaal, Union Rutten, SK Tongeren, St-Truiden, Oud-Heverlee Leuven and SK Lokeren in Belgium SK before moving to Holland in 2016, and hit 18 goals in all competitions this season, 15 of which were in the Dutch Eredivisie, thereby inspiring an invitation to the Eagles for him.
