Bournemouth’s Nigerian-born attacker, Arnaut Danuma has set off a three-way tussle for his signature among Southampton, Watford and West Ham United, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although he struggled for form in the early days of his arrival at Bournemouth from Club Brugge of Belgium, Danuma managed to end the season on a roll, as he notched up a handful of goals for The Cherries.
However, with Bournemouth eventually failing to gain promotion back to the English Premier League, Danjuma is bound to seek pasture anew, which has led to speculation about his prospects in the summer transfer window.
Subsequently, Watford have launched a bid to cement Danjuma in their squad ahead of their return to the top-flight, as they gained promotion after just one season down in the English Championship.
The Hornets, who currently have the Nigerian quartet of William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, Joseph Hungbo and Tom Dele-Bashiru on their cards, will now fancy their chances of sealing a deal for Danjuma ahead of Southampton and West Ham.
This is sequel to reports out of Queensland indicating that the EPL returnees have joined the list of clubs seeking to lure Danjuma away from Bournemouth, after he scored in both legs of the play-offs semi-finals.
The report added: “Watford have joined West Ham United and Southampton in the chase to sign the free-scoring winger.
“Danjuma was a standout performer for Bournemouth and one of the best players in the English Championship after he scored 17 goals in 37 games and provided eight assists.”
