Arsenal of England youngster, Bukayo Saka is angling for a return to his original role down the wings, as the Nigerian-born lad believes he can help The Gunners better in a more advanced spot alongside the attackers, megasportsarena.com reports.
Saka is pushing forward his desire ahead of the restart of action in the English Premier League this Wednesday, following 100 days of suspended activity due to coronavirus, and the club’s coach, Mikel Arteta is hopeful the England under-19 international will sign a new contract at Emirates Stadium.
Football.london reports that Arteta plans to motivate the talented 18-year-old, who has been forced to play as left-back since breaking into The Gunners’ mainframe, but he has aired his desire to play further up front and in his natural winger position.
Despite playing in the unfamiliar left-back position so far this season, Saka has excelled in a very tremendous manner, thereby attracting summer transfer interest in and outside England, but The Gunners hope to ward off interest from two of their EPL rivals, Chelsea and Manchester United, in order to keep him for the long term future.
