Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa is considering the weight of two shock offers he has received from the English Premier League duo of West Bromwich Albion and Burnley, which could see him get the deal that would see him achieve his desire of staying in England this year, megasportsarena.com reports.
Dramatically, interest from Semi Ajayi’s WBA and Burnley popped up just as Musa was on the verge of returning to CSKA Moscow of Russia this weekend, but his agents are now reportedly studying both late offers, which have been described as very tempting for the fleet-footed ace.
Although Musa’s previous stint in the EPL, with Leicester City did not go well, and he rushed off to Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia after just two seasons with The Foxes, one of which he spent on loan back at CSKA, the former Kano Pillars and VV Venlo of Holland star appears ready to accept one of the latest deals and snub the chance of making a return to Moscow.
A report by allnigeriasoccer.com revealed that the offer from WBA comes from a revival of their long-held interest in Musa and The Baggies have made a late swoop for the attacker, whose agents are also said to be in talks with Burnley, CSKA and two clubs in the Turkish Super Lig.
Feelers from Queensland indicate that pole position for now is being held by Ajayi’s club, as The Baggies were on the brink of signing Musa on loan in the summer transfer window, only for Al-Nassr to pull out of negotiations at the last minute.
However, with fresh discussions between Musa’s representatives and West Brom now only in the early stages, Burnley have shown an intent to pull the rug from under their rivals, as The Clarets are the only other EPL side linked with a potential deal for the Eagles’ skipper.
All this has put on hold initial talk that the 28-year-old Musa could be returning for a third stint with CSKA, despite having already made formal contract offer from The Army Men, as the Jos-born icon previously reiterated that his priority is to seal a deal that would take him back to the EPL.
A source close to the player told SCORENigeria: “There are at least two offers from the Premier League for Musa. They came just as he was about finalising a return to CSKA.
“He was already set to join CSKA in Spain for pre-season training before this latest development. One of the offers is from a London club.”
