New arrival of FC Porto of Portugal, Zaidu Sanusi has disclosed that he is very, very happy with the deal that will see him play for the first time in the top-flight league and declared that he intends to put in his very best effort to succeed from the word go, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although he will no longer have Super Eagles’ defender, Chidozie Awaziem as a senior teammate and compatriot to put him through the ropes at Porto, as the full-back-cum-stopper has moved on loan to Boavista, Sanusi said he is determined to weather every storm and overcome.
The youngster, who arrived last week from lower division side, Santa Clara, promised to give his all in order to help the reigning Portuguese champions continue their giant strides, while also paying for his best personal season since moving to Portugal 2016, when he first signed for Gil Vincente and later spent the next two years at Mirandela before joining Santa Clara.
He spent the 2019/20 campaign at Santa Clara, after some eye-catching displays at Mirandela, with 27 appearances and a goal to his name, but the 23-year-old left-back now becomes Porto’s third signing of the season – after Cláudio Ramos and Carraça.
Porto disclosed in their official announcement of his arrival that Sanusi is a reinforcement for the club in a five-year contract that will be valid until 2025 and the youngster, who expressed deep happiness with the deal, promised to give everything he has for to the club and Portistas.
Sanusi said: “I’m really happy to be a FC Porto player. I don’t even know how to explain it, but I’m very, very happy to be wearing this shirt. The club and the fans can expect everything from me. I received many messages from FC Porto fans and that made me very happy. I hope to do a good job and help the team. This season we will win everything.”
