SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen has put himself into contention for a return to action with the Naples-based club this weekend, following his appearance in action with the main team, megasportsarena.com reports.
After being excluded once again for action against Sasssuolo in midweek, on account of ongoing rehabilitation from a head injury suffered two weekends ago versus Atalanta, Osimhen now looks on course to battle Bologna this Sunday.
This is sequel to reports indicating that the former Ultimate Strikers Football Academy of Lagos, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Sporting Charleroi of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France striker was spotted among the squad, as the team resumed training on Thursday morning.
The session held barely 12 hours after the team’s draw with Sassuolo in a Serie A fixture and, though Osimhen did not play in that game, the Super Eagles’ youngster has now reputedly fully recovered from the head injury he suffered against Atalanta on February 21.
There are now great expectations of a resurgence for Osimhen, who has not been selected for 19 matches this season due to health issues and had to pass concussion protocols before he was cleared by the Italian Federation to return to the pitch.
He was seen happy among the Napoli players, as the team was divided into two groups for the training session ahead of Sunday’s game against Bologna, ahead of which the club’s media unit disclosed: “Victor Osimhen spent part of the session with the group and part of it training alone.”
