American National Basketball Association (NBA) league team, Indiana Pacers are expecting their young guard, Victor Oladipo back into full action next month, exactly two years after he suffered a ruptured right quad tendon, megasportsarena.com reports.
Oladipo was injured on January 23, 2018 and has not played any competitive game since, but the latest report out of Indiana says he has steadily stepped up his rehabilitation and engaged in stronger workouts recently.
The Pacers were 32-15 at the time of his injury, before going 16-19 for rest of the season, but got swept away by Boston Celtic in the first round of the post-season, as Oladipo’s absence told on the franchise, for which he swas in the middle of his second consecutive All-Star campaign when he was hurt, averaging 18.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists across 36 games
This year, the Pacers have started 21-10 without Oladipo, putting them with one-and-a-half games of the second spot in the Eastern Conference, but the youngster hopes to return in late January or early February.
In his first season with The Pacers, 2017-18, the 27-year-old Oladipo, who is now seeking a huge impact in his seventh NBA season, averaged a career-high 23.1 points with 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists along with a league-best 2.4 steals per game.
The cupid-faced lad, who spent his first three campaigns with Orlando Magic before one year in Oklahoma City, was acquired by Indiana – along with big man Domantas Sabonis – in exchange for Paul George in July of 2017.
