Wydad Casablanca of Morocco have expressed an interest in hooking the signature of former Super Eagles star, Michael Uchebo and are on the verge of announcing a deal for the attacker, after agreeing terms with his agent.
The lanky striker came close to making a switch to FK Haugesund this summer, but the deal collapsed at the last minute as he could not reach a financial agreement with the Norwegian club.
Uchebo has been a free agent since his departure from Portuguese setup Boavista, a club he joined after participating at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he came up against Manchester United’s Rojo, Valencia’s Garay and ex-Man City defender Pablo Zabaleta in the Super Eagles last group match versus Argentina.
The attacker’s dribbling ability is surprising for a player of his height, can shrug off the opposition with ease due to his physicality, and has aerial presence as you would expect from a lanky player.
A product of Enugu Rangers, Uchebo started to play football in Europe for Dutch club VVV Venlo, where he stayed for two and a half years before transferring to Cercle Brugge in 2012.
The 26-year-old is expected to arrive in Casablanca on Friday, all things being equal.
