Chelsea of England striker, Tammy Abraham is ruled out of action with the London club in this weekend’s English FA Cup fixture, but The Blues’ gaffer, Frank Lampard confessed that he still does not have details of the Nigerian-born lad’s situation, megasportsarena.com reports.
Lampard admitted he has to wait till after this weekend to know the full extent of Abraham’s fitness level, after the striker limped out with an ankle injury in their midweek derby draw with Arsenal in the English Premier League.
The Chelsea gaffer, though, is sounding optimistic of having Abraham back for their demanding EPL trip to Leicester City next Saturday, February 1, after which The Blues also face Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in pivotal fixtures during the same month, ahead of which their gaffer is keen to see his 13-goal striker back to fitness as quickly as possible.
Lampard, though, confirmed that the England hitman will miss Saturday’s English FA Cup trip to Hull City, as The Blues are still waiting to find out how long he will be sidelined, despite battling hard to stay on the pitch till full-time of Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
“He’s not fit for the weekend, but whether he’ll be fit for Leicester I’m still not sure. It’s still not clear at the moment. The good news is he hasn’t fractured anything, but the other news is we still have to see how he develops,” Lampard concluded.
