Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may be inclined towards hiring another expatriate coach to take over technical duties in the country’s female national team, Super Falcons, following interest being expressed in the vacant job by USA’s former under-23 squad handler, Randy Waldrum, who is reportedly seeking the same job he snubbed three years ago megasportsarena.com gathered.
Back then, Waldrum was already expected to fly to Nigeria to take over the Falcons’ duty, only for him to inform the NFF at short notice that he was no longer interested in the job, thereby leaving room open for Sweden’s Thomas Denerby to get the nod.
Dramatically, while Waldrum rejected the Falcons’ job in 2017, in spite of having already been publicly announced by the NFF as the team’s new coach, as he preferred tang up a vacancy then at University of Pittsburg, he is now set to again apply to tinker the Nigerian women’s team.
This is according to a report by SCORENigeria, which noted that Waldrum’s CV includes stints with USA’s under-23 team and n Trinidad and Tobago, which could now earn him the duty post in Nigeria, as a credible source boldly declared: “He plans to re-apply for the Falcons job. Once a few things are sorted from his own end, he will put his hat in the ring.”
