Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) may not enjoy a free rein in the club’s starting line-up should he choose to remain with them into next season, as the Italian Serie A returnees are thinking of buying a rival attacker from Inter Milan, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Although ‘Simy’ was top scorer in the Italian lower division, Serie B, with his goals spurring Crotone back to the top-flight just last week, the club have opted not to rely solely on him next season, as their sporting director, Giuseppe Ursino has left the door open to taking Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito to join the second-tier champions this summer.
However, it could also be in reaction that ‘Simy’ has been courted for a deal that could take him to SS Lazio, thereby leaving Crotone in the hunt for a replacement, but Ursino says they will first seek to get Esposito on-loan ahead of next season, when they will be back in the top-flight, after two seasons’ absence.
It is now left to be seen whether ‘Simy’ will actually move to Lazio and give room for a new arrival in his place, which for now could jolly well be the 18 year-old Esposito, who has only played 15 minutes in the league since the season restart, and Inter aim to find a new club where he can further develop his talent next season and Ursino admits his team could welcome the lad on loan heading into their first campaign back in the upper echelon of Italian football.
Ursino submitted: “Would Esposito be good for next year? I don’t like to talk much about the market when the season has not ended yet. We want to continue this positive streak of points and therefore win the last two games we have left to play.”
