Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus defender, Shehu Abdullahi has issued a pledge of more hard work and continued total commitment to the club’s ambitions, even as he admitted how excited he is that he has been able to settle in fully at the Cypriot 1st Division outfit.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, as he continues making a near-perfect start to life at Nicosia, the former Kano Pillars, Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus and Bursaspor of Turkey full-back is relishing the stats that show he has already featured in 18 league games this season for Omonia Nicosia.
In his total log, Abdullahi has helped the club win 11 games, drawn five and suffered just two defeats, while playing key roles in 38 points from his total haul of 50 in the league, such that the versatile player, who has been ever-present for the club since joining in October, is basking in sheer delight.
While acknowledging that the experience they gained from playing in the UEFA Europa League has also helped them do well on the domestic front, Abdullahi told AOIFootball.com: “The season has been good for me and the team. I think I settled down as quickly as possible.
“Kudos to the coaching staff, my teammates, and the club management. After quarantine and medical process, I was listed for a game and since then I have been working hard to contribute to the team’s success.
“We had a good run in the Europa League and the experience has helped us this season. We are pushing for the League title and we hit 50 points in our last match, but we have to keep the momentum and continue to fight.”
